PIECE BY PIECE was lovingly started by Sophie Alpert and her extended network of family, friends, and generous supporters as a cottage industry to teach recently homeless families to make mosaics, and sell them to support themselves and to lift their spirits and offer skills and a much needed creative outlet.
I have been very fortunate to be a part of this organization from the beginning in 2005. What follows are photos of projects we’ve done together..only the tip of the iceberg for PIECE BY PIECE. Please visit their website, www.piecebypiece.org, to admire the work and the joy and the talent of these artisans. Feel free to purchase a few pieces for gifts or to celebrate and beautify your own home!
